Privacy enquiries: data-privacy@scopal-affairs.com
This notice covers the German and English pages of the house. Linked standalone applications, the earlier website and external services may involve additional processing; their own privacy notices apply to that processing.
Access and technical operation
When you visit, your IP address, access time, requested address, response status and technical browser information are processed to deliver the page, investigate faults and prevent attacks. If your browser sends a referrer, it may also appear in technical logs. On access-protected preview pages, the credentials you provide are processed to check access.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in a secure, available website. Recipients are the hosting and network service providers involved in technical operation, to the extent needed to provide the service.
Logs of the house services are rotated with size limits. Older files are automatically replaced when the limit is reached; the actual retention period therefore depends on log volume.
Language and cookie
When you select DE or EN, your browser stores the choice in the __Host-sa_lang cookie for up to 365 days. Some browsers shorten this period. The cookie contains only de or en and is used on later visits to language-neutral addresses. You can delete or block it in your browser settings; direct German and English links continue to work.
Storage serves the language function you selected (section 25(2), point 2, TDDDG); further processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Without a stored choice, the browser's language preference is considered first. Where a local country database has been installed, the IP address may also be mapped to a country locally. The result is not stored as a visitor profile, and the IP address is not sent to a geolocation service for this purpose.
The software supports GeoLite2 for this optional lookup: This product includes GeoLite Data created by MaxMind, available from MaxMind.
Audience measurement
The house pages count visits with Plausible Analytics. The software runs on the operator's own server; the script and its reports go through this website's own address, not through a third-party service. Plausible sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. From the IP address and technical browser details it forms a value that changes every day, groups visits of the same day, and cannot be linked afterwards; the IP address itself is not stored. What is recorded: the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, an approximate location, and clicks on links to other sites and on downloads.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in knowing how the pages are used. A browser that sends "Do Not Track" is not counted. You can object to the counting (Article 21 GDPR); contact the address given above.
Media, links and local functions
Fonts and scripts for the house pages load from this website. Some images and recordings still load from scopal-affairs.com; that server also receives the connection data needed to deliver them. External video and audio players are replaced with links on the house pages. The external service is opened only when you follow its link.
The house pages embed no advertising trackers; for audience measurement see the section "Audience measurement". The cards and console at the threshold run locally in your browser. Their inputs and card draws are not sent to the server. No automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made.
Contact by email
If you write, your address, message and any details you choose to provide are processed to answer your enquiry. Recipients include the email service providers used for this purpose. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual and pre-contractual enquiries, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for answering other messages. Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry or meet statutory retention duties.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Articles 15–20 GDPR). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). Please use the contact address above.
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (Article 77 GDPR), in particular the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
